Winter Camp!

Registration is Open Now!

Greetings AFHC! We want to welcome you back to hockey with some great news -- after nearly a decade of searching, the Aurora Field Hockey Club has found an indoor home... Skate City Aurora! We are hoping to make this our permanent home base for all future indoor events. 

Ready for a winter chock full of field hockey? Read on to learn more!

Advanced Winter Camp (January 10-March 3):

When: Tuesday/Thursday Mornings

Who: Grades 10-12

Time: 6:30am-7:45am  

Where: Skate City Aurora

Designed for serious field hockey athletes, our Advanced Camp will offer players the chance to hone their skills through a combination of tactical instruction, challenging mini-games and full scrimmages.

Intermediate Winter Camp (January 10-March 3):

When: Tuesday/Thursday Mornings

Who: Grades 8-10

Time: 6:30am-7:45am  

Where: Skate City Aurora

Designed for experienced athletes with a drive to improve, our Intermediate Camp is perfect for players looking to cement fundamental skills while simultaneously pushing on to more advanced plays and tactics. 

Beginner Winter Camp (Canceled): Private or Group lessons are available on request

 

Required Gear

All athletes must bring with them:

  • a field hockey stick ( outdoor or indoor accepted at trainings)
  • shinguards
  • a mouthguard
  • a filled water bottle
  • a mask (required for indoor trainings per city ordinance)

 

Other Opportunities:

Roller Rink/Ball Hockey 

As a welcome gift,  Skate City is giving all Winter Camp Participants FREE admission to their Sunday Roller Rink Hockey Program. Rink Hockey is the equivalent of field hockey on roller skates. It's a fun way for athletes looking to expand their skills by cross-training during the off season. Sessions will be Sundays at 11am at Skate City Aurora.

Tournaments 

When: Various dates January -- March

Where: Monument, CO and Lakewood, CO

We will have more information about these tournaments soon as they open registration. If you are interested in participating in a tournament, you will additionally need

1.) an official indoor field hockey stick

 2.) an indoor field hockey left-handed glove. 

 

Aurora Field Hockey Club

Aurora Field Hockey Club provides coaching and tournament play opportunities for athletes in the South-East Denver metro area. Our membership ranges from complete beginners all the way to former college and international players.
