Summer is almost here, which means it's time to gear up for summer hockey! AFHC's summer program combines instructional sessions with weekly games to help athletes achieve the next level in their field hockey careers. The program is intended for players of all ability levels 6th grade and up. Tuesdays will be designated as training days while Thursdays are game days.
Athletes will be divided into two groups:
Incoming 6th-9th graders: For the first 2 weeks athletes in this group will participate in training sessions to learn the game and meet their teammates. They will then be split into teams for the last six weeks for a total of 10 training sessions and 6 games. Players are not required to attend every session. Each player will receive their own reversible pinny and team shirt.
Incoming 10th-12th graders: Athletes in this group will participate in 8 training sessions and 8 games. Players will be split into four teams, competing against each team twice and finishing with a playoffs the last two weeks. Players are not required to attend every session. Each player will receive their own reversible practice pinny and team t-shirt for games.
Note: Goalie specific coaching may or may not be available at every session, dependent on staff availability.
Dates:
Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 7- July 28th
Times:
Tuesdays -- All Levels 4:30pm-6:30pm
Thursdays -- Incoming 6th-9th Graders -- 4:30pm-5:30pm
Incoming 10th-12th Graders -- 5:30pm-6:30pm
Athletes are expected to arrive and warmup 15 minute prior to the start of their session.

Mark your calendars for Rocky Mountain State Games! The Rocky Mountain State Games (RMSG) is Colorado's largest multi-sport festival for athletes of all ages and athletic abilities.
The Field Hockey Tournament will take place the weekend of July 29 through 31 in Colorado Springs. Teams from throughout Colorado, Oklahoma, and St. Louis will compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals. Want to reserve your spot on an AFHC team? Sign up here!
Aurora Field Hockey Club provides coaching and tournament play opportunities for athletes in the South-East Denver metro area. Our membership ranges from complete beginners all the way to former college and international players.
